8 November 2014 --
On-Semiconductor (formerly Motorola) issued Product Discontinuance #20685.
This notice announces the end of life for practically all of their TO-92 style components. This includes popular components such as MPSA13, 2N3904 and 2N4401 transistors, 2N5060 series SCRs and many other components. Many of these components have second source manufacturers but locating stock has proven difficult. Great Plains Electronics is attempting to stock up on discontinued items and will continue to sell them as long as possible.

16 March 2015 --
Cypress Semiconductor issued Product Termination Notification #PTN155367
This discontinues their CY7C185-20PXC, last version remaining of their fast 8Kx8 memory series in a 0.3" wide DIP package.

8 April 2015 --
Texas Instruments issued Critical Part Change Notification #20150406000
This discontinues many popular logic devices such as SN74154N, CD74HCT154E, CD4514BE and CD4515BE. Also included is their popular 2803 transistor array as used in WPC machines -- ULN2803AN

ST Microelectronics had previously placed their popular TDA2030AV audio amplifier at End Of Life. This month, ST Microelectronics reversed their EOL decision and has decided to continue making TDA2030AVs for the time being....and this week, ST Microelectronics Re-issued an EOL for their TDA2030AV...they are now obsolete and no longer available.

February 2015 --
Molex has discontinued its 2574 series edge connectors.
So -- both single sided and double sided edge connectors for Gottliebs are obsolete. Fortunately, there is a replacement for the smaller (12 pins or less) connectors but not for the larger and more popular sizes.

March 2015 --
Panasonic has discontinued all Snap-in style electrolytic capacitors.

August 2015 --
Molex Product Termination Notification 106699639
Molex has discontinued 0.062" housings larger than 12 circuits.

October 2015 --

September 2016 --
On-Semiconductor has acquired Fairchild Semiconductor. On-Semiconductor has discontinued ALL TO-92 package transistors leaving the remaining primary source -- Fairchild Semiconductor. Now that On-Semi has acquired Fairchild - what is the fate of TO-92 style transistors? Stay tuned...
